The first time Sora and Axel meet is in Castle Oblivion, in Chain of Memories. After making his way to the second floor, Marluxia hands over the fun to Axel when the pyro hints at wishing to take over from here. Axel then introduces himself to Sora rather casually. He checks to make sure they're fully acquainted by first names, then fights Sora.




After Sora proves himself worthy he receives a card from him. Sora is shocked to find that Axel was merely testing him, and.... He passed! Although Axel offers Sora a hint on how to remember, he refuses, wishing to find out on his own. Just before Axel makes his leave, he forewarns Sora of an event that will take place when his memories awaken.
